2017 El Jefe Burrito Eating Championship

Congratulations to Michael Jenkins, Taco Bus’ 2017 El Jefe Champion!

Michael Jenkins finished the 2.5 lbs burrito in 2:22, with Noah Pransky in second place with a time of 2:32! Big thanks to everyone who participated and attended the event!

Taco Bus, in observance of National Burrito Day, celebrated its love of Mexican food by hosting a burrito-eating championship at the Original Taco Bus on East Hillsborough in Tampa, Florida. For weeks we geared up for this celebration, and wanted to thank everyone who attended to not only support their friends, but support their love of the Bus!

Our courtyard was filled with families, friends and children, plus nearly 30 El Jefe finalists who competed for the Glory of the Championship! El Jefe wandered around the Taco Bus and made sure to get photos of everyone who was Keepin It Chido. Our Judges, who were nominated as Tampa Bay community figures, helped made sure the competition was won fairly and squarely.

Once again, a BIG THANKS to everyone who came and made this memorable event possible! We look forward to seeing you next year for the 2018 El Jefe Burrito Eating Championship!
