Guacamole and Queso Get Their Own Holiday

September hands Tampa Bay two food holidays worth showing up for, and Taco Bus is running a code for both.

National Guacamole Day — Wednesday, September 16. Free chips and guacamole with a $20 purchase. Use code GUAC26.

National Queso Day — Sunday, September 20. Free chips and queso with a $20 purchase. Use code QUESO26.

Both work at all eight Tampa Bay locations.

The guacamole is made by hand, every morning

There’s a version of guacamole that arrives in a tub. That’s not what happens here.

Ours is mashed by hand in every Taco Bus kitchen, fresh, every single day. Avocado, lime, salt, and the discipline to not do anything clever to it. That’s it — and that’s why it tastes like guacamole instead of like a dip.

On September 16, a $20 order gets you a basket of chips and a side of it, free, with code GUAC26.

The queso goes on everything

Queso is not a side. Queso is a decision you make about the rest of your meal.

Order it on its own with chips. Pour it over nachos. Put it on a burrito, a quesadilla, a bowl, or a pile of carne asada fries. We’ve seen all of it and we don’t judge any of it.

On September 20, a $20 order gets you chips and queso free with code QUESO26.

How to use the codes

Both codes work the same way:

  • Spend $20 or more
  • Use the code — GUAC26 on September 16, QUESO26 on September 20
  • Valid at all eight Tampa Bay locations
  • One per order, on the day itself

Hours vary by location, so check yours before you go — the codes only work on the calendar day itself.

While you’re in

Fall items are back on the menu through November 30 — Apple Pie Empanadas and Pumpkin Spice Horchata. Neither is guacamole, but both are worth the detour.

And if you’re not in the Bus Club yet, joining is free and every order earns points toward food you didn’t pay for.

Mark the dates

Wednesday, September 16 — chips and guac, code GUAC26.
Sunday, September 20 — chips and queso, code QUESO26.

Tampa Bay’s street-food original since 1995. Eight locations. Made by hand, made to order.
