Since 2017, Taco Bus has celebrated the beauty that is the Burrito every April on National Burrito Day with the El Jefe Burrito Eating Championship.
The El Jefe Burrito Eating Championship invites burrito enthusiasts from all over the country to participate! Contestants who can eat the 2.5 lbs burrito in 5 minutes or under are entered as qualifiers, and may be selected to compete in the final event!
What are the PRIZES?
Prizes to include MASSIVE CASH PRIZES, Taco Bus T-shirts, swag, gift cards, and a customized, certified, one-of-a-kind Taco Bus EL JEFE CHAMPIONSHIP BELT! Did we also mention, complete bragging rights for a full year! In the 2018 competition, our first place winner took home $2,500 cash!
How Can I ENTER?
Stay tuned, Taco Bus will be announcing the rules to qualify and compete in the 2019 competition soon! In the meantime, make sure to get tons of practice in!
The History of El Jefe
El Jefe is one of Taco Bus’ most prized menu items. Weighing in at nearly 2.5 lbs, El Jefe is a beloved favorite of burrito aficionados around the world. The burrito is made with two tortillas, double rice and beans, cheese, sour cream and guacamole!
